Nigeria's Super Eagles goalkeeper, Daniel Akpeyi can now finally make his much anticipated Moroka Swallows debut after getting his work permit, Nigeriasoccernet.com has gathered.

The former Chippa United goalie joined the Dube Birds in late January, but has been unable to make an appearance for his new side after it was reported he was yet to get his permit to play.

Reports had it that the South African club were expecting Akpeyi's work permit issues to be sorted before the match with his former club, Chippa United on Sunday.

South African media outlets have now confirmed the Nigerian shot stopper will be available for the DStv Premiership visit at the Nelson Mandela Bay Stadium in Gqeberha.

The 39-year-old joined Swallows from Kaizer Chiefs after his contract with the Chiefs was terminated in June, 2022. He then went to train with Swallows who were on transfer ban, but signed immediately the ban was lifted.

Swallows will be his third club in South Africa after he’s made 104 appearances for Chippa and 69 for Chiefs.

Swallows are third from bottom, tied with Maritzburg United on 21 points in the relegation play-off spot – and both sides have 10 matches remaining.
