Nigeria's Super Eagles B team Salisu Yusuf has said that a revenge mission against Ghana is not their priority ahead of the final round of the 2023 Championship of African Nations qualifier against the Black Galaxies of Ghana.

Ghana set up a clash against Nigeria after they defeated the Squirrels of Benin Republic 4-0 on aggregate, winning 3-0 in the first leg and 1-0 in the second leg.

Speaking ahead of the game, the Kano Pillars' gaffer maintained that qualifying for the tournament in Algeria remains their main goal

“I won’t say we are seeking to get revenge against Ghana because of what happened with the last game on the road to Qatar."

“We want to win and qualify for the final stage of the competition in Algeria next year. That is basically what we are pursuing."

“However, if we beat them to the ticket, which we hope to achieve, then whatever description anyone gives it should be a matter of choice," Salisu Yusuf said

The first will come up on the 28th of August at the Cape Coast stadium while Nigeria will stage second at the MKO Abuja stadium on the 3rd of September.
