Nigeria sole representatives in the CAF Confederations Cup, Rivers United returned to winning ways as they defeated Ivorian football club ASEC Mimosas on Sunday, Nigeriasoccernet.com reports.

The Pride of Rivers got a three nil win in their second group game of the continental competition at the Godswill Akpabio International Stadium.

Goals from Malachi Ohawume, Ukeme Williams and Ndasi Denis ensured the Nigeria league champions looked beyond their 3 nil loss against Diables Noirs in their first game.

Ohawume put the Nigerian side in the first minute of the game from an Nyima Nwagua assist.

Williams with a powereful right footed strike doubled the lead for the Host the lead in the 42nd minute.

Ndasi Denis increased the lead as quickly as possible at the start of the second half with an header to put Rivers United in comfortable state.

The match will end three nil after much intensity from the Nigeria team as they play their DRC side, DC Motema Pembei in the next match.
