Black Galaxies suffer setback in preparations for CHAN Qualifier against Super Eagles B
The preparation of Ghana's Black Galaxies has suffered a setback as the trip to Austria for the all-important final round of the 2023 Championship of African Nations (CHAN) qualifier against Nigeria's Super Eagles B team has been cancelled due to problems with visa.
The Galaxies defeated Benin 3-0 in the first leg at the Cape Coast Sports Stadium before winning 1-0 in the second leg on in Port Novo in the first round of the CHAN qualifiers to set up a tie against West African rivals Nigeria in the final round between August 26-28, 2022.
The team was supposed to travel to Austria for a four-nation tournament next week and take on Qatar, Morocco, and Jamaica.
The home-based national team eliminated Benin in the preliminary round to progress to the next round.
Recall Ghana Black Galaxies missed out on the CHAN tournament in the last three editions and are keen on bouncing back to the competition in which they finished second in the maiden edition.
