AshantiGold coach Bashiru Hayford has tried to shift attention from his team by saying visiting Heart of Lions are title contenders ahead of Wednesday's Ghana Premier League clash.

The Miners sit on top of the league table with an impressive 21 points and a healthy five-point advantage over second placed Aduana Stars.

Lions are coming from a moral-boosting 1-0 win against Hearts of Oak and will be looking to improving their standings when they travel to the Len Clay Stadium.

“Lions have done very well and this is another opportunity for us to test ourselves,” Hayford told GHANASoccernet.com

“I think they are a good side capable of competing for the league so we are all on the same level.

“It’s another opportunity to make some points and that is how we will be approaching the game.”
