The greatest indication yet that Kelechi Iheanacho's future is not at King Power Stadium comes after Leicester's 2-0 loss to Blackburn on Saturday, Nigeriasoccernet.com writes.

After finishing one point ahead of Ipswich at the top of the table, the Foxes were declared Championship victors and quickly returned to the Premier table.

Since returning from the recently concluded 2023 Africa Cup of Nations in Abidjan where Nigeria advanced to the final but lost host to the host to claim broze, despite Iheanacho's two performances in Ivory Coast, the manager Enzo Maresca lost faith in the player.

The 27-year-old striker only made four appearances for Maresca's team in the league this year, and on the last day of play against Rovers, he came off the bench for the last 12 minutes.

Iheanacho has been linked to a transfer to Aston Villa as Ollie Watkins' backup. His contract with the East Midlands club ends at the end of June.

After the trophy was presented, the Super Eagles hitman was spotted sporting a shirt that said, "We've got history." You will miss ME once I'm gone.

At the scene, he discussed the team's promotion with footiewithnabila anchor Nabila Fash, saying, "I feel good, I feel great, it's a massive achievement so I'm really happy."

Iheanacho said, "I don't know for now, I'm still a Leicester player," in response to the question of what was next for him.
