Austin Jay-Jay Okocha has given his opinion of the team he perceives that has the potential to win the ongoing TotalEnergies CAF Africa Cup of Nations Cote d’Ivoire 2023, tipping his home country Nigeria as one of the favorites.

Nigeria were held to a 1-1 draw by Equatorial Guinea in their opening clash, while Cote d’Ivoire triumphed to a 2-0 victory of Guinea-Bissau.

The Super Eagles ex- international stated this during an exclusive interview with CAF online ahead of the highly anticipated second Group A match with the Elephants take on Thursday, 18 January, Nigeriasoccernet.com reports.

"Nigeria is, of course, my favorite. Come on, let's see what happens", he said.

"We definitely have a good number of teams who we believe have what it takes to succeed. I saw Senegal play yesterday, and they performed admirably, as you mentioned".

"Naturally, Morocco impressed us at the World Cup, so we anticipate success from them. However, you also can't ignore teams like Cape Verde, Equatorial Guinea, and Angola since they shown just how tough the AFCON has gotten", he added.

This is the match that the world is waiting for in the group stages of the TotalEnergies CAF Africa Cup of Nations Cote d’Ivoire 2023.
