Nigeria Super Eagles goalkeeper, Stanley Nwabali has described missing goal scoring chances as one of those things that happen in football after the game against Guinea Bissau on Monday, Nigeriasoccernet.com reports.

The Super Eagles defeated Guinea Bissau 1-0 in their last group match of the 2023 African Cup of Nations in Cote D'Ivoire courtesy of an own goal by Guinea's Opa Sangante in the 37th minute.

The score line could have been different if not for the team's shyness in front of goal in the encounter at the Felix Houphouet Boigny Stadium Abidjan.

The Chippa United number one, Nwabali after the match spoke with pressmen and stated that missing chances is part of football and it happens as a result of pressure.

"It's football. When you play under pressure and you really need a goal, it happens like this, you miss a lot of chances because you want goals. It happens in football. I don't feel like it's a bad thing today. We won, one goal is enough for us."

The Super Eagles scored 3 goals in the group stage one from open play against Equatorial Guinea, the other from the spot against Cote D'Ivoire and the own goal against Guinea Bissau.
