Ukraine forward Roman Yaremchuk says the team can be happy with their battling display in Tuesday night friendly encounter against the Super Eagles of Nigeria, Completesports.com reports.

The home team rallied back from two goals down to a earn 2-2 draw in the thrilling encounter at the Dnipro Arena.

Yaremchuk netted a controversial hand-aided goal to draw Andriy Shevchenko’s men level 11 minutes from time

Nigeria took an early lead when debutant Joe Aribo slotted the ball home in the fourth minute after a neat pass from Alex Iwobi.

Victor Osimhen doubled Nigeria’s advantage in the 34th minute, converting from the spot after Samuel Kalu was tripped inside the box by Eduard Sobol

Oleksandr Zinchenko then reduced the deficit with 12 minutes remaining on the clock.

“Probably, we can be pleased with the result, as we pulled a draw in a game we were losing and now we will go with clubs in good mood,” Yaremchuk told reporters after the game.

Yaremchuk would also speak about his controversial goal.

“I haven’t seen it again. Someone said that there was a hand ball, another said it was not. However, the score was 2 – 2, everyone is happy,” he added.
