With the swearing-in ceremony across the country set for this weekend, matches in the NNL have been placed on hold, Nigeriasoccernet.com can report.

This was done as most of the stadiums used for the second-tier league games are to host the political swearing-in ceremony.

Communicating the new development to stakeholders concerned, the NNL in its circular states:

"This is to inform you that due to cases at the Disciplinary Committee of the Nigeria Football Federation awaiting hearing as well as the use of some stadia for swearing-in/handing over ceremonies at the various states, week 6 Northern Conference, and all week 10 Northern and Southern Conference League matches are hereby place on hold."
