Michael Carrick lauds Iheanacho's character in wake of Stoke victory
Michael Carrick, Middlesbrough head coach has revealed that he is pleased with Kelechi Iheanacho's attitude despite not been involved as they secured a 3-1 victory at Stoke City yesterday, Nigeriasoccernet.com reports.
The on loan Sevilla forward who after three consecutive starts was benched for the game against Stoke City was pictured celebrating the opener, joining in the celebration much more to the delight of the Manchester United's legend.
"Kel didn’t play tonight and he’s on loan. He’s played in the games that have proven difficult when we haven’t won. He’s done well but we changed it tonight", Carrick addressed in his post match interview.
"He celebrated the most of anyone when that first goal went in. He was bouncing off the bench and celebrating like anything. When I turned around and saw that, I thought, we’re going to be all right.”
Iheanacho would be hoping to get involved as they host Derby County next at the Riverside Stadium.
