Matheus Cunha: Brazil will beat Nigeria to qualify top of the group
Watford midfield Matheus Cunha is drumming support for his home country to go ahead and beat Nigeria an secure he number spot in Group D of the 2023 FIFA U-20 World Cup, Nigeriasoccernet.com reports.
The Flying Eagles of Nigeria with two wins from the their two games in they group sit top of the group with six point while the South Americans remain second with three points from two games.
Brazil’s second game in the group against Dominica Republic changed the mood in camp. They pummeled the North American country 6-0 after losing to Italy 3-2 in their fort group game.
With such impressive performance, Cunha is the opinion that the Ramon Menezes’ side can topple the Nigerians after they meet on Saturday at the Estadio Unico Diego Maradona in La Plata.
“The thinking is positive. The group is happy and we are going to have a great training session to close the preparation and beat Nigeria and qualify in first place, God willing (…),” the 24 year old told the country’s official football website.
