LIGUE 1 - Lens fans banned for 18 months for pitch invasion

Following the pitch invasion during their home derby with Lille on Friday, Lens banned a number of fans for up to 18 months.
Arnaud Pouille, the club's general manager, said during a news conference that suspended sentences of up to 36 months had also been issued.
"In some cases, these bans will be accompanied by a complaint to police if violent behavior is suspected," said the club.
Pouille also slammed Lille fans' behavior in the section for visiting fans, where "80 seats were pulled out, shattered," and the "toilets were wrecked."
He condemned "rarely seen pictures," noting that "these facts are more about hooliganism than fanaticism."
Pouille stated, "The fans will embrace the denunciation of violence." "The most difficult part is convincing them that they cannot invade the pitch in response to what they perceive. The pitch is regarded as holy."
