Ibrahim Aliyu scores, assist in Houston Dynamo's Cup win
Nigeria's Ibrahim Aliyu scores his first goal for Houston Dynamo in their US Open Cup Round of 16 victory over Minnesota United FC on Tuesday, Nigeriasoccernet.com reports.
Aliyu, who joined the Orange Boys in April made his first start six days ago, but it was this match were he came from the bench in the 63rd minute that he scored his first for H-Town.
His goal was the third of the game as his team breezed pass Minnesota United by four goals to nil to reach the quarter final of the US Open Cup at home.
However, it was Corey Baird who was the rave of the day as he scored thrice in the match. The American opened score with a well taken penalty in the 33rd minute.
Baird doubled the lead with a beautiful chip after a through pass from forward Amine Bassi found him in the 68th minute.

Before Aliyu, in a one-on-one position scored the third goal for Houston after he controlled Baird's pass and place it at the left corner in the 79th minute.
Aliyu 10 minutes later became the provider as his pass was converted by Baird for his hattrick which ended the tie 4-0.
Houston face the winner of Wednesday night’s match between Austin FC and Chicago Fire FC in the quarterfinals on June 6 or 7.
