EPL: Iheanacho, Ndidi relegated as Iwobi survives
From the Nigerian perceptive, it was a tale of two feelings as two Nigerian players saw their team relegated to the second tier of English club football while another survived on Sunday, Nigeriasoccernet.com reports.
While it was a bitter pill to swallow for the duo of Kelechi Iheanacho and Wilfred Ndidi and their club, Leicester City, it was a sigh of relief heaved by Alex Iwobi and Everton.
Despite a 2-1 win over Westham United at the King Power Stadium after Harvey Barnes and Wout Faes scored for Leicester City before Pablo Fornals pulled one back.
However, it turned a pyrrhic victory after Abdoulaye Doucoure's strike against Bournemouth pushed Everton to 17th on the log with two points ahead of Leicester City for them to survive.
With the development, Iheanacho and Ndidi will join Paul Onuachu and Joe Aribo of Southampton in the English Championship.
