Joe Aribo has expressed his happiness on making a goalscoring debut for the Super Eagles in the Nigerian team’s 2-2 friendly draw with Ukraine on Tuesday at the Dnipro Arena, Completesports.com reports.

The Glasgow Rangers of Scotland midfielder who paired Oghenekaro Etebo and Alex Iwobi in midfield, capped a brilliant showing with the game’s first goal in the fourth minute.

The former Charlton Athletic player superbly slotted the ball home after receiving a pass from Iwobi.

Aribo came close to getting another goal midway through the first half, but his perfect header from Jamilu Collins’ cross was palmed away by Ukraine goalkeeper, Andriy Lunin.

The Super Eagles surrendered a two-goal lead with the Ukranians scoring twice in the second half to earn a share of the spoils.

Aribo while describing the occasion as special one for him and his family is however disappointed that the Super Eagles couldn’t hold on to their lead in the game.

“Buzzing to make my debut for @NGSuperEagles, unfortunate with the result but happy to score on my debut, a special day for me & my family and one I’ll remember. Thank you God?? ??? #SoarSuperEagles,” Aribo tweeted on Wednesday.
