In form Canadian-born Nigerian striker, Promise Oluwatobi Emmanuel David Akinpelu, says he's ready to compete for the Super Eagles jersey.

The 20-year-old who recently signed a two-year deal with Siren FC in the Maltese Premier League, expressed satisfaction with the welcoming attitude in his new found club.

Promise spoke exclusively about his new teammates, as he hopes to break new grounds in the Maltese elite domestic league.

“They welcomed me with open arms. I had a one-on-one meeting with the President of the club and we talked about our targets this season.

“We have a good team, made up of talents and I believe our set goals can be achieved with hard work from everyone at the club.

"It’s a tough league with lots of physical play but with determination, I was able to thrive likewise my teammates."

Asked if he was willing to play for Nigeria's Super Eagles if invited, Promise wasted no time to express his readiness.

“Why not, I will jump at the chance. It will be a dream come through for me as the Super Eagles is rated among the top teams in the World with so many talents playing in the top leagues across the globe.”

Promise David is a product of the Toronto FC Academy, he played for Vaughan Azzurri before a spell with NK Trnje Zagreb in Croatia and later FC Tulsa in the USA.

He's a creative striker, and predator in front of goal. This obviously has helped him in making waves in his club side.
