Canada Championship: Sunusi Ibrahim's goal seals Montreal's qualification to the final
Nigeria's Sunusi Ibrahim engineered CF Montreal's progress to the final of the Canadian Championship on Thursday after he scored in their win, Nigeriasoccernet.com reports.
The former Nigeria Football League star scored the second goal that confirmed the win for Montreal at Stade Saputo as they return to the final after missing out in 2022.
Ariel Lassiter opened score in the 58th minute after a barren first half. The French attacker drove the ball from the left side before hitting it as it deflected off Alessandro Hojabrpour to beat the 'keeper from distance .
Ibrahim doubled the advantage in the 78th minute after a mix up by Forge's defender that gave the Nigerian the opportunity to shot at close range into the net.

He has now scored five goals in five Canadian Championship matches, four against Forge FC.
CF Montreal will face the Vancouver Whitecaps on the road in BC on June 7th.
Meanwhile, Chinonso Offor also featured, coming on as a halftime substitute.
