After the painful 0-2 loss to the Netherlands in the early hours of Monday in the quarterfinals of the U-20 women's world cup, Coach Danjuma has reacted.

The Falconets had been in an impeccable run before the quarterfinals, but got their wings clipped by the Dutch ladies.

And Danjuma has revealed that his girls were punished for their mistakes.

"This is football, when your opponents capitalise on your mistake and they punish you for that. So I think we had few mistakes starting.

We were punished for it. And we had our chances and we couldn't take it. And football is about taking your chances.

So it is just unfortunate because nobody wants to go into the game and lose. We wanted to go in there and win, but it didn't happen"

Danjuma however said Costa Rica has been a place of learning and great place to garner experience.

The coach further described his girls as "phenomenal and excellently wonderful players who have the hunger and desire to be better." He said Nigeria is lucky to have them.
