Nigeria Flamingos coach, Bankole Olowookere, has expressed delight and satisfaction over his team's win and the scoreline against Algeria U-17 girls in the first leg of the last phase of the U17 FIFA Women's World Cup Qualifiers, NigeriaSoccernet.com reports.

The Nigeria U-17 Women defeated Algeria 4-0 at the Remo Stars Stadium to increase their chances of qualification, with the second leg still to be played in Algeria.

Olowookere's reaction after the game was that of a satisfied father who gave his girls kudos for scoring four.

"I'm very happy for the team and the girls. What I will say is that scoring four goals in a game is not easy. Some teams will be looking for one goal, but we were able to score four goals, kudos to the girls."

The Coach stated that the team should be appreciated and the girls encouraged, as scoring four goals out of 15 chances was not bad at this level, even as he assured that there would be improvement.

He also admitted that development was key at this stage, stating that it was key they ended the match with a clean sheet, as it is important at this stage.

The Flamingos play in Blida, Algeria, for the return leg on Friday, April 25, to secure their place at the 2025 FIFA U17 Women’s World Cup in Morocco (17 October – 5 November).
