"This is a huge step in my career" - Izuchukwu Okonkwo on Slavia Praha's move

Sealing another European move at age 19, it couldn't have gotten any better for Izuchukwu Okonkwo with the midfielder admitting how huge his move to Czech giant S.K. Slavia Praha is while discussing in his first interview with the Club, Nigeriasoccernet.com writes.

Izuchukwu has already begun building his career in Europe, having first made the move from Nigeria to join Bulgarian side Botev Plovdiv. His journey continued with a loan spell in the Armenian Premier League, where he gained valuable experience and furthered his development on the continental stage.

Signing a long-term contract that will keep him at the club until June 30, 2030, the highly rated midfielder will join up with the B-Team once his visa issues is solved in August.

"I'm very happy to be here. It's an incredible feeling for me because Slavia is a huge step in my career and I'm excited that something like this is happening right now.

"Slavia is a big club. I know it's the biggest club in the Czech Republic. It has a rich history and wins a lot of matches. It also has great fans and modern facilities.

"Coming to the stadium here is a dream come true for me. It's a really big leap in my career. When I saw the pitch here at the stadium, I was really excited and I'll do everything to play on it one day."

He previously featured for FC Van in the Armenian First League, making 28 league appearances and scoring six goals over the course of the season. In addition to his league performances, he started four matches in the Armenian Cup, where he added two more goals to his tally.
