Shaka Hislop says he'd be shocked and disappointed if West Ham appoint David Moyes to replace under-pressure Slaven Bilic. Slaven Bilic says he understands he is not above West Ham and insists the club's struggles are not about effort.

Slaven Bilic and West Ham have parted company, with David Moyes favourite to replace him.

The club dropped into the Premier League's bottom three following a 4-1 defeat against Liverpool on Saturday and Everton's victory against Watford and sources told ESPN FC following that game that Bilic was expected to be fired.

West Ham have only won two of their 11 Premier League games so far this season, despite the summer signings of Joe Hart, Pablo Zabaleta, Marko Arnautovic and Javier Hernandez.

Speaking following the loss to Liverpool, Bilic told BT Sport: "It's hard for me to talk about that now.

"I have to talk to the chairman; we are going to discuss this defeat," he said. "It's not the first one, it's the second in a row in home. It is a very difficult situation for me. I always believe in myself; I wouldn't be here otherwise."

David Moyes could be set for a return to Premier League management.

He then told the BBC: "The pressure mounts game by game and at this moment it is big. My situation is very difficult; we will see what the club will do."

Former Everton, Manchester United and Sunderland manager Moyes, meanwhile, said he would be keen on the role when asked about it.

He said: "I'm interested [in West Ham], but until that vacancy comes available, and at the moment it's not available... I know what Slaven is going through, and he must be hating it and wanting to get a result as quickly as possible.

"If it comes available yes, and at the moment it's not available. Unfortunately for me to get back in [to club management] means a manager would have to lose his job, and I wouldn't wish that on anybody."

Bilic, who was appointed in June 2015, led the club to a seventh place finish in the Premier League during his first season in charge and 11th last season.
