Nottingham Forest defender Ola Aina is a major doubt for his side’s Premier League trip to Arsenal on Saturday after sustaining an injury while on international duty with Nigeria, reports Nigeriasoccernet.com.

The 27-year-old picked up the knock during the Super Eagles’ 2026 FIFA World Cup qualifying match against South Africa on Tuesday at the Toyota Stadium, Bloemfontein. He lasted only 10 minutes before being substituted.

Although Forest has yet to disclose the extent of the injury, reports suggest Aina faces a race against time to be fit for the crucial clash at the Emirates Stadium.

Since joining the club, the former Torino star has been an integral part of Forest’s backline, featuring in every minute of their opening three league fixtures this season against Brentford, Crystal Palace, and West Ham United.

New Forest manager Ange Postecoglou will be hoping the versatile full-back’s setback does not rule him out for an extended period, given his importance to the team’s defensive stability.
