Robo Queens defeated Remo Stars Ladies, handing them their first loss of the Nigeria Women Football League on Wednesday, Nigeriasoccernet.com reports.

The debutants who have been strong enough to hold three league champions, Bayelsa Queens, Rivers Angels and Delta Queens lost to the Lagos Land Ladies 2-1 in the Southwest derby at the Mobolaji Johnson Arena.

After a goalless affair in the first half, the second half hit full swing with U-20 star Ajakaye Opeyemi opening score for the Lagosians.

Opeyemi scored wiith a powerful header off a brilliant cross from Shukurat Oladipo in the 50 minute.

Folashade Ijamilusi doubled the lead for the home side through an superb individual finish from the edge of Remo Stars Ladies box 3 minutes later.

Adaobi Okah headed home a fine corner from Taiwo Adegoke to reduce the deficit for the visitors 9 minutes to the end of the encounter.

The goal proved only a consolation as the Sky Blue Stars Ladies were condemned to their first defeat this season.
