At the New Jos Stadium, Plateau United were a handful for El Kanemi Warriors in the match day 8 encounter on Wednesday, Nigeriasoccernet.com reports.

Former NPFL champions scored the highest number of goals in a match day so far this season after dispatching El Kanemi Warriors by five goals to nil.

They waited no time to score the first goal courtesy of Sunday Anthony after a pass from Ibrahim Mustapha in the second minute.

Izuchukwu Chimezie got an hamstring injury in the 17th minute and was replaced by Jackson Eru who scored two minutes later after reacting to increase the lead of the host.

The incing on the cake came at the stroke of 90 minutes as substitute, Uche Onwoasoayan headed in the fifth for Plateau United to consolidate the win.

Plateau United are now third just two points shy of second place, Enyimba on the group A log while El Kanemi Warriors just have one point separating them from rock bottom, Nasarawa United.
