The Nationwide League One has wielded its big stick on ACT di Sports Oyibo FC Lagos, Seamoriow FC Lagos, BISON FC Lagos and FRANCEEX FC Lagos for the misconducts that happened between the teams, Nigeriasoccernet.com reports.
After the game between ACT di Sports Oyibo FC Lagos and Seamoriow FC Lagos ended 2-9 and BISON FC Lagos and FRANCEEX FC Lagos ended 0-9, the league body investigated to ascertain any fowl play following the high score results.
The NLO after considering the reports of the officials of the game played on May 27, ruled that the teams committed "gross misconduct and fraud".
The league body stated that it was "convinced beyond any reasonable doubts that there was a compromise."
According to the release, BISON FC that only conceded 7 goals in 8 matches suddenly conceded 9 goals to give Franceex an edge on goals different, despite using the same set of players that executed their previous 8 matches.
On the otherside Seamoriow average goals scored in 8 matches was 2 goals per match but because they want to outwit Franceex FC on goals difference suddenly scored 9 goals in a match.
Consequently, applying the the rules (Article 4.17) as it affects the actions of the culprits, each of the clubs is hereby fined N500,000 each, to be paid to NLO account, all the matches played by the 4 clubs in the current 2025 season are hereby canceled.
Beside, the players and officials that participated in the matches are hereby banned for two years. The names and their pictures shall be released in due course.
