Jose Mourinho insists the arrival of a new left-back at Chelsea will not be to replace Cesar Azpilicueta.

The Blues boss has made no secret of his desire to sign a left-sided defender this summer, with Filipe Luis set to return to Atletico Madrid after just a year at Stamford Bridge.

The Daily Telegraph claim Chelsea want to replace the Brazilian with Augsburg's 21-year-old Abdul Baba Rahman and are lining up a £15million bid.

But Mourinho has reassured Azpilicueta of his first-team place amid the transfer speculation.

When asked if the new left-back will replace the Spaniard, Mourinho replied: "We sold Filipe. We have the best left-back in England - Azpilicueta."
