Rivers United Set for NPFL Matchday 3 Clash Against El-Kanemi Warriors in Maiduguri

Players and officials of Rivers United will fly into the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), Abuja, today en route to Maiduguri for their Nigeria Premier Football League (NPFL) Matchday 3 fixture against El-Kanemi Warriors, writes Nigeriasoccernet.com.

The Pride of Rivers will depart Port Harcourt aboard a ValueJet flight at 8:50 a.m. on Friday, September 5, 2025, with a stopover in Abuja before continuing its journey to Maiduguri. The team’s contingent is expected to arrive later in the day.

The eagerly awaited clash is scheduled for Sunday, September 7, 2025, at the El-Kanemi Stadium in Maiduguri, with a kickoff time of 4:00 p.m.

Rivers United head into the fixture on the back of a strong start to the new season, having held reigning champions Remo Stars to a draw on opening day before defeating Kwara United 1-0 in Port Harcourt.
