NWFL: Bayelsa Queens, Edo Queens kick off season on November 26
The 2025/2026 Nigeria Women's Football League Premiership will commence on November 26 after the Annual General meeting held in Portharcourt ok Wednesday, Nigeriasoccernet.com reports.
The 2025 Nigeria Women's Football League Annual General Assembly, which had stakeholders, club representatives, and media persons, revealed the schedule for the 2025/2026 Nigeria Women's Football League season.
The season will begin with reigning champions, Bayelsa Queens, going against 2023/2024 season champions, Edo Queens, in group A.
Twenty football clubs were grouped into group A and group B. Group A has Bayelsa Queens, Rivers Angels, Edo Queens, Ibom Angels, Naija Ratels, Castmog Ladies, Heartland Queens, Ekiti Queens, Pacesetters Queens, and Adamawa Queens.
In group B, Nasarawa Amazons, Confluence Queens, Sunshine Queens, Ahudiyannem Queens, Dannaz Ladies, Remo Stars Ladies, Delta Queens, Abia Angels, FC Robo Queens, and Osun Babes.
Six teams are expected to be relegated from the twenty, with three from each group.
There will be four match weeks before the proceeding on a Christmas break, to resume on January 7.
