Fer Reveals Lookman’s Inter Opportunity Would’ve Led to Limited Minutes
Former Italian international, Ferrara, has stated that if Ademola Lookman had gone to Inter Milan, he would have struggled for playing time, Nigeriasoccernet.com reports.
Ferrara spoke of the Super Eagles forward's imminent move to Milan during the transfer window, stating that the player would have found it difficult to fit in.
He stated that, given what Christian Chivu, the coach of Inter Milan, is doing, achieving consistent results, and changing the structure or formation of the team for Lookman would have affected the team.
"Lookman might have had the chance to go to Inter," Ferrara stated. "But he would’ve ended up on the bench, speaking to DAZN, as reported by FCInter1908.
"To fit him in, you’d have to change too much: the formation, the structure, and the habits of players who already know their roles perfectly."
"Think about Bastoni—if you move him into a back four, he struggles a bit more," Ferrara explained. "The same goes for Dimarco, who is a pure wing-back. Changing the shape just to fit one player in would’ve created too many doubts."
Lookman was a subject of transfer during the summer transfer window, with Inter Milan being one of the clubs keen for his services. Unfortunately, a deal fell through with Atalanta BC after several bids.
