Club Brugge have parted ways with head coach, Nicky Hayen just two days before their crucial UEFA Champions League match against Arsenal, Nigeriasoccernet.com reports.

Hayen, who led Brugge to the domestic title last season, was dismissed following a poor run of league form, including three defeats in their last four matches.

The Belgian champions are currently third in the league, five points off the top, and have only four points from five Champions League games, placing them 26th in the group-stage standings.

Ivan Leko, a former Brugge manager, has been appointed as Hayen's replacement and will lead the team against Arsenal.

Leko, who previously won the league with Brugge in the 2017-18 season, faces a tough task to restore confidence and organization ahead of Wednesday's match. Arsenal, who are looking to bounce back from a domestic defeat, will be a highly motivated opponent.

Raphael Onyedika, a key player for Brugge, will be under pressure to perform in this decisive fixture.

The match is set to be an intense and crucial encounter for both teams, with Arsenal seeking redemption and Brugge scrambling for stability.
