WAFU-B U-20 GIRL'S CUP: Falconets crowned champions
Nigeria's U-20 Girls have been crowned champions of the the WAFU-B U-20 GIRL'S CUP after dominating the series in Benin Republic, Nigeriasoccernet.com reports.
Falconets edged past Benin with a hard-fought 1-0 victory, thanks to a first-half strike from Ramotalahi Kareem in their last game to cement their status as champions on Wednesday.
The Falconets finished the group stage unbeaten, collecting 12 points from 4 matches, scoring 10 goals and conceding only one.
A total dominance it was from the African giants to dethrone reigning champions, Ghana to win the second edition of the tournament.
They defeated Ghana 3-1 in their first game, beat Benin Republic 3-0 in their second game, thrashed Ghana again 3-0 in the third game before Wednesday's game at Stade Omnisports d’Adjohoun .
