Ex-Ghana striker Tony Yeboah wants youth football strengthened

Tony Yeboah says Ghana must strengthen its youth development to ensure the country remains at par with the improving trends of football.

The former Black Stars striker was a major beneficiary of an immaculate scouting system by German club FC Saarbrucken having impressed with local clubs Cornerstone and Okwawu United.

Yeboah went on to become one of the finest strikers to have hailed from the continent before finally retiring from football in 2002.

The former Hamburg striker however says Ghana must intensify its youth development system to remain at par with the fast changing trends of the game globally.

“Football is changing across the world and therefore we should be very wary so we are not left behind,” he told Kasapa FM.

“We need to strengthen our youth development to ensure we remain in touch with the development of football.”
