Chuba Akpom wins twice at the player of the year award

Nigeria's Chuba Akpom has won two awards at the Middleborough end of the season awards on Friday, Nigeriasoccernet.com reports.

Following a remarkable season for the Riverside team, Akpom carted away with the players' player award and player of the year award.

Players' player award were voted for by his teammates while the fans chose him for the player of the year award.

Akpom has a result expressed gratitude to the fans and players for the award.

He has 29 goals in all competitions and is the first Boro player for 33years to net 20-plus league goals in a single season.

Akpom has contributed immensely to the position where Middleborough is this season despite he had started the season without a match squad, but thanks to Michael Carrick who given him the opportunity to roam around other players, he has been at his best.

Other awards were #Boro's Young Player of the Year which was  given to Hackney Hayden, Player in the Community award winner this season is Roberts Liam, the appointment of Michael Carrick won our Moment of the Season award while Mcgree Riley's stunner against Norwich City was voted as Boro's Goal of the Season.
