Ghana captain Asamoah Gyan scored from a sublime finish to help Shanghai SIPG defeat Chongqing Lifan 4-2 and went back to the summit of the Chinese Super League on Sunday afternoon.

Gyan netted on the 40th minute mark with a clinical finish to put Sven Goran Eriksson's side 3-0 ahead.

The 29-year-old raced into space to pick out a pass from Wu Lei who had taken on two opposition defenders before supplying a neat pass to Gyan.

Gyan maintained his calm inside the box and beat a defender before burying a sublime low drive into the net of the on-rushing Lifan goalkeeper.

Wu Lei then added the fourth goal after picking a pass from Argentine international Conca who had scored the opening goal.

Gyan has now scored twice from three games for Shanghai SIPG.
